Before starting ALD Design in 2017, Anthony Peet spent years working within large civil engineering consultancies. The technical work was good. The way clients were treated often wasn't.

Developers would call with urgent questions about their drainage or highway designs and get passed to a project manager who hadn't seen the drawings. Junior engineers were doing the detailed design work while senior staff put their names on it. Submissions to authorities were being handled by people who hadn't designed the scheme, so when queries came back, they couldn't answer them properly. The result was delays, rework, and frustrated clients who felt like just another job number.

ALD was founded to work differently.
